In addition to our teaching, we have had the privilege of serving most of the Greater North Atlanta counties, within several school districts, accompanying and adjudicating for district and state festivals. In 2020, we both achieved great success with our students as everyone was forced into an online platform during the Covid-19 pandemic. We were thrilled to discover that our students were thriving as they began having lessons in their own environment!
In 2022, we have expanded to include guitar and bass lessons, taught by Turner Jenkins. He studied music at both Shorter College and Belmont University with an emphasis in music theory, composition and arranging. He has more than 25 years of teaching experience as well.
Our philosophy of teaching is to help create well-rounded musicians, to prepare them to expand their musical journey beyond piano and voice, if they choose. Some important facets we include for piano are music theory, chord theory and in-depth study of proper technique. For voice, we incorporate ear training, sight-singing, multiple varieties of repertoire, and healthy, sustainable vocal technique. For guitar and bass, reading chord charts, chord theory, guitar technique and rhythm are just some of the concepts covered. Our hope is that our students continue their love of music and performing for a lifetime!
