What type of lessons do you offer?  We teach voice and piano


What ages are your students?  We encourage parents to wait until students are at least 6 years of age.  After that, we are happy to teach students of all ages, including 70 and 80 year old students.


Do you teach beginners?  We teach beginners, intermediate and advanced students.  


What style of music do you teach?  Depending on the goals of the student, we plan an individualized plan in the genre of interest.  We teach a classical method, jazz, or worship.


How long are lessons?  We offer 30 and 60 minute lessons currently via Zoom.


How much do lessons cost?  Please email myburkholdermusic@gmail.com for rates.  We do have discounts available for multiple lessons or multiple family members studying with us.


Have you had success with Online lessons?  We have been very encouraged by our students during this transition to online lessons.  Not only have we experienced success but we have found that our students are thriving being in their own environments.


What is your cancellation policy? If a student is unable to attend the lesson online, then it will be up to the instructor whether or not to schedule a make-up lesson.  If a student knows of an absence in advance, the instructor will do his or her best to make arrangements, but we cannot guarantee a make-up 100 percent of the time.  If the student is a no-call, no-show, then there will be no make-up provided.


How and when do you accept payment for tuition?  Tuition is due every month by the first lesson of the month.   Our online platform has options for online payment.


Do you teach on holidays?  No, we do not teach on holidays.


Is your lesson program during the school year or year round?  We teach year round.


Do you offer other services?  We do offer accompanying for performances, auditions and contests.  We are also available for adjudicating competitions.  


Do you allow for performance opportunities for students?  Yes, when it is safe to do so, we host two recitals per year to give students opportunities to practice good performance methods, and to see other students’ progress.  During this season, we encouraged each student to record memorized performances in the safety of their own home, and we posted them, with their permission, so family and friends could celebrate their achievements with them.
